On the desktop, the dropdowns work great. However, on an iPad, if the list is scrollable and you swipe with your finger it doesn’t scroll correctly — basically it just selects the item where you first touched the list/screen. Is that an expected behavior, and if so, is there any way around that?

    Hi Greg,

In the latest version(released yesterday 2012-03-09), you can scroll via the scrollbars of the dropdownlist with IPad i.e touch the scrollbar and move it up or down as you do it on the desktop. Touching an item will select it on the ‘touchstart’ event and will close the dropdown. Do you think that it would be better to close the dropdown only after touching the dropdown’s arrow and enable the scrolling experience similar to the ListBox’s one?

    Best Regards,

Hi Peter. Thanks for your quick response. The change to the dropdown in the new version definitely helps. To answer your question, yes, I think ideally it would behave very similar to the listbox — i.e. a swipe with your finger would “spin” the list and a single touch would select the item from the dropdown. That would be the standard behavior on an iPad, though I can’t speak for other devices. Thanks for asking,

    -Greg
