    What is the purpose of the jqxWidget div tag in all of your examples?

    Hi mlbartonsr,

    It’s not necessary for creating widgets. For Getting Started, I suggest you to take a look at the Getting Started help topics on the Documentation page. For some examples the DIV tag is used just as a container of the other html elements on the page.
