How to read nested grid of each row of the master grid

I have a master grid and for some rows there is a nested grid each. If I go through the selected rows of the master grid and for each index I want to read the nested grid underneath, how do I do it ?

Hello jqxgridfa,

Unfortunately, there is no such built-in functionality.

However, what you may do is, each time initrowdetails is called, get the rows of the current child (nested) grid and put them in an array. After that you will have an array with all the rows of all the child grids. Then, when you select some rows from the master grid, you can get the rows of those rows’ child grids.

But I am also allowing users to enter values in an editable cell, on click of a button how will I be able to fetch that value ?

Another workaround is to store the ids or jQuery objects of the nested grids on initrowdetails and then call the getrows method for the desired (edited) nested grid, i.e.:

var initrowdetails = function (index, parentElement, gridElement, record) {
    var id = record.uid.toString();
    var grid = $($(parentElement).children()[0]);
    nestedGridArray.push(grid);

Thanks Dimitar for your help.

I worked way out by giving incremental id to the detail grid, the example assigned ‘detailgrid’ as id to all row’s child grids which stored only the last grid against the id. I put index in suffix so I could then read all the grids with their unique ids.
