Custom Grid renderstatusbar function not being called

Hi,

Is there a reason why my custom ‘renderstatusbar’ function is not being called when I invoke the Grid’s updatebounddata method? I’ve also tried ‘refresh’, ‘refreshdata’, and ‘render’ methods… none are working.

Any ideas would be appreciated…. since I really don’t want to Do to destroy and recreate the grid to get this done.

It is called once when the widget is created. It is not necessary to be called multiple times.

Thanks Peter, however, my use case requires the various summary values I’m calculating and displaying on the Grid’s status bar to be updated as new transactions are submitted in a pop-up window.

I assume there is no way to do that… besides destroying and recreating the grid after each transaction is submitted? Please confirm.

Hi Cyril,

I suppose that you can add your custom logic in the “renderstatusbar” i.e if you add custom UI, may be you can make it to respond to some actions activated by you in some other places in your code.

Thanks Peter. I decided to go with the grid destroy/recreate option and it’s working well. The data I’m dealing with is fairly small and well indexed so that’s probably the easiest route.

I had to update my grid status bar to display changed aggregate metrics so I made the renderstatusbar function(statusbar){ statusbar.append( ‘<span id=”aggstatus”></span>’); };
and everywhere I needed to update the statusbar contents:
$(“#aggstatus).html(“…”);
