Can't edit when jqxgrid is in a modal dialog box

Hello
i am using jqxwidget 3.0.2 (jqxgrid) with asp.net mvc 4 (VS2010).
When i try to edit a jqxgrid (even the one given as a sample in “Grid Server Paging and Editing “) in a modal dialog box (jquery-ui), this doesn’t work.
I can click on a cell and arrive in edit mode but then when i enter text or numbers then nothing happen.
I did a search without founding any related topices.

If i try to edit same jqxgrid with a classic page then it works.

Is there any special action to do in case of modal dialog box?

Hi Mickael,

Try that with the jqxWindow widget. jQuery UI’s Dialog stops some events while their dialog is modal.

Hi,

I believe that jqxgrid sets a positive z-index on cells as they enter edit mode. might jqxgrid have an issue with its baseline z-index if its rendered on top of a jquery-ui dialog Peter? I also cannot type in textboxes when they arrive in edit mode. This could cause a problem for me as Im already using jquery-ui and am attempting to wire jqxgrid alongside existing jquery-ui widgets.

For modal dialog, you can use jqxWindow. The jQuery UI Dialog stops the handling of some events so in case you wish to display our Grid in a Modal Dialog, you will have to use our jqxWindow, too.
